Enhancing Animal Recovery Through Physiotherapy
At Active Strides Veterinary Physiotherapy, I specialize in aiding the recovery of small animals through a range of comprehensive techniques. My service offers mobile physiotherapy, meaning your pet can be treated in the familiar comfort of their own home. I am available for treating in Surrey and Sussex, located in Charlwood.
Services
Full Assessments
During your first consultation, I will conduct a detailed full assessment of your pet. This includes static, dynamic, palpation and neurological evaluation, allowing me to understand your animal's unique needs, develop a treatment plan and document their progress.
Manual Therapy
This service includes specialised massage, joint mobilisation and stretching. This gentle hands-on approach allows relaxation amongst a range of benefits. These include reducing pain, relieving muscular tension, improving movement, encouraging muscle activation and increasing blood and lymph flow, thus improving tissue health.
Electrotherapy
Electrotherapies apply advanced technology to enhance healing, reduce pain, and restore function.
LLLT (Low Light Laser Therapy) - With inhibitory and stimulatory settings, laser can reduce pain and inflammation, and encourage healing within the body.
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy) - Increases blood and lymph flow, reduces inflammation, relieves acute or chronic pain and assists in bone healing.
Remedial Exercise
In addition to exercises being completed in-session, I will also create an at-home exercise programme specifically tailored to each individual case. This will provide you with a range of progressive exercises designed to gradually strengthen and rehabilitate your pet.
The benefits of these exercises include improving limb loading, increasing range of motion, building muscle, increasing neural input and coordination, and improving gait.

Please note: Travel prices of £1 per mile will be introduced if you are located more than 15miles from Charlwood, Surrey
Initial consult
up to 90 minutes
Your initial consultation will consist of a full assessment. We will discuss your pets history, background and lifestyle. I will then administer full treatment and provide you with advice and at-home exercises to help your pet to improve further.

Follow-up sessions
up to 60 minutes
These sessions will include the same treatments provided in the initial session, without the need of background information/full assessment. Here I will be able to update their at-home exercises and monitor their progress.

Short sessions
up to 30 minutes
Short sessions are a cheaper option where I will provide just 1-2 of the services stated above. This can be useful if your pet is referred just for electrotherapies or if you wanted to provide them with a gentle hands-on massage session.
